April 2008
Update
Dear Diplomat Members,
Poof! There went March. And all we did was defend our TOT Grant from the city and secure the highest ranking possible, tour Liberty Station again in search of our next office home, facilitate a session at a Peace Conference in Balboa Park, do a tasting with Indulge Catering for our Asian Celebration event on June 12th, find dinner hosts (Thank you! You know who you are!) for 150 Fulbright scholars here from around the world, agree to a special programming request from the State Dept. for a special delegation of journalists from Afghanistan, meet with Tijuana/SD Japan Society for possible future collaboration on an event, write three intern letters of recommendation, attend a play reading by our member Barbara Chronowski about cinema
and the Russian Revolution (fabulous!), meet with our Teague medical insurance representative and go over new plans, interview new interns, and on and on. Oh, and welcome our international visitors!
No wonder the month went so fast!
This month we are asking for your help again. See HELP! below.
WATCH YOUR MAIL! The invitations to our Annual Meeting/Asian Celebration are days away from being in your mailbox. We hope you act quickly to get your reservations in. And for the first time since I have been here, we are asking for Sponsors for this June 12th event. From an individual giving $100 to a Gold Sponsor at $1500. You who work for businesses, can you HELP! with this please?
From the world of day-to-day face-to-face international diplomacy,

Cath DeStefano
Executive Director
