Internships
We love our interns! We work with you to make sure your experiences with us are varied and valuable.
We will be accepting applications for summer internships from April 1 to April 30th.
Our volunteer intern positions are for college junior through graduate level students.
TIME COMMITMENT: 10 hours per week, minimum of two days per week
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL INTERN POSITIONS:
- Interest in international affairs
- Ability to take initiative, hit the ground running, work independently and with a team
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Meticulous attention to detail is absolutely necessary
- Strong computer competency (Microsoft Word and Excel) and internet research skills.
- Previous experience with internal databases (ie. data entry) is preferred

►GENERAL INTERN
- Locate experts to meet with our visitors
- Plan and schedule professional appointments for international visitors
- Accompany visitors to their professional appointments
- Research businesses with international interests
- Input research findings in our eCIV database
- Assist at all CDCSD events
- Provide informational materials to prospective members/volunteers
- Answer telephones and greet office visitors
- Provide support to all staff as necessary
►YOUNG PROFESSIONALS/MARKETING INTERN
- Recruit members to join our Young Professionals group
- Help plan events
- Design marketing materials (Photoshop experience strongly prefered) to use when marketing events to the local universities and community
- Maintain profiles on social networking websites
►PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN
- Write and broadcast press releases and press advisories on an on-going basis
- Research and expand CDCSD contacts with local press/media resources
- Attend visitor appointments and photograph local-visitor interaction
- Write and broadcast follow-up articles featuring notable visitors
- Assist with writing and producing CDCSD publications and newsletters
- Maintain CDCSD mentions in regular community business, and newspaper calendars
►EVENT PLANNING INTERN
- Plan several different types of events
- Initiate and develop new events
- Coordinate on site tasks of events
- Develop and distribute invitations
- Collaborate with others to market the event to the community
